01Who we are
Seroft, LLC ("Seroft", "we", "us") is responsible for the personal data collected on this website. We're based at 2018 North Street, Sacramento, CA 95816, United States.
This notice covers this website, our contact and careers forms, and booking a call with us. Work for clients is covered by our written agreement with each client.
02What we collect
- Contact form
- Your name, email, country and message. If you choose to add them: your company name, team size, budget, and whether you'd like updates.
- Careers form
- Your name, email, country, the kind of work you do and your CV. If you choose to add them: a link to your work and a short note.
- Booking a call
- Your name, email, the time you pick and anything you add. Bookings run on Cal.com.
- AI assistant
- What you type to the assistant on this website. We don't store chat messages. Each message is sent to Anthropic, which provides the AI model, only to write the answer. Our hosting logs show that a request was made, not what you wrote.
- Security check
- Your IP address and basic browser details, checked by Cloudflare Turnstile to stop spam and bots.
- Display settings
- Your light or dark mode and motion choice, saved in your own browser. They aren't sent to us.
We don't ask for sensitive information, such as health details. Please leave it out of messages and CVs.
03Why we use it
- To reply to you, and to discuss and prepare your project.
- To consider you for a role, and to contact you about it.
- To book and hold calls.
- To send occasional updates, only if you ask for them. Every email includes a way to stop them.
- To keep this website safe and working.
- To meet legal duties, such as keeping hiring records.
04Legal bases in the EU and UK
If you're in the European Union or the United Kingdom, data protection law asks us to name a legal basis for each use:
- Replying and preparing work
- Steps you ask for before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering inquiries.
- Job applications
- Steps before a possible employment contract, and our legitimate interest in hiring.
- Updates by email
- Your consent. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Security check
- Our legitimate interest in protecting the website.
- Records the law requires
- Our legal obligations.
You don't have to give us your details. Without them, we can't reply to your message or consider your application.
05AI in hiring
When you apply, AI helps with the first sort, against what the role needs. Then a person in our HR team reviews every application, and a person makes every hiring decision. No decision is made by AI alone.
You can ask for a person to review your application again, or ask for an adjustment if a disability or another need makes our process harder for you.
07Cookies and tracking
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't track you across other websites. Your display settings stay in your browser's storage, on your device.
Because we don't track you across websites, "Do Not Track" signals don't change anything here. We also treat Global Privacy Control signals as a request not to sell or share your data. We don't do either.
08How long we keep it
- Messages and bookings
- While we're in touch, then up to two years after our last contact.
- Job applications
- Four years after the hiring decision. California employment rules require this. This covers the CV in our storage and the copy attached to the email we receive.
- Update emails
- Until you unsubscribe.
- AI assistant chats
- We don't keep them. Anthropic handles messages under its own policy.
- Security check
- Handled by Cloudflare under its own policy.
After that, we delete your details or remove anything that identifies you.
09Your rights
Depending on where you live, the law gives you some or all of these rights:
- See the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct it.
- Delete it.
- Get a copy to take elsewhere.
- Object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it.
- Withdraw your consent, for example to updates.
California residents can also ask what we collect and why, and ask us not to sell or share their data. We don't sell or share it. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.
To use them, send us a message through the contact form, or write to us. We may ask you to confirm who you are. We reply within the time the law allows: one month in the EU and UK, and 45 days in California.
If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
10Where your data is stored
We're based in the United States, and so are many of the services we use. Your details are likely to be stored and processed there. Where the law requires it, we rely on the safeguards our service providers offer for international transfers.
11How we protect it
Only the people who need your details can see them, and we use reputable services with strong security. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise that nothing will ever go wrong. If something does, we'll tell you when the law requires it.
12Children
This website is for businesses and job seekers. It isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has sent us details, tell us and we'll delete them.
13Changes to this notice
When we make a significant change, we'll update the date at the top and show a notice on this page. If you've asked for updates by email, we'll tell you there too.
